Greg Benson is co-founder of sister companies Loll Designs and Epicurean Cutting Surfaces located in Duluth, Minnesota. Both companies our housed in the AIA award winning Hawks Boots Sustainable Manufacturing Facility, also founded by Benson. Loll is a design and manufacturer of internationally distributed outdoor furniture. Epicurean is a cutting board and kitchen ware design/manufacturer with international distribution. Both Epicurean and Loll, founded in 2003, began as a way to utilize extra material from the construction of municipal skate parks being built by TrueRide, an early Benson project founded in 1997.
Epicurean started with an innovative reinvention of a cutting board that sold locally and grew to be carried in more than 5000 stores in the USA and sold in more than 50 countries. Loll began with the iconic adirondack chair before launching an online store in 2006 with an expanded collection of furniture which can now be found in Room&Board and DWR, amongst others. As the demand for products grew, both Epicurean and Loll shifted from the excess skate ramp material to post consumer recycled materials as the primary source for their products. Epicurean utilizes post consumer paper in their cutting boards while Loll uses plastic reclaimed from recycled milk jugs.
