Mary Jo Hoffman /
Photographer, Still Blog
Mary Jo Hoffman posts one image, daily, of gathered natural objects found near her.
Near her usually means Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota, her home. Sometimes it means the Gulf Coast of Florida, and sometimes Grand Marais, Minnesota, on the north shore of Lake Superior. Sometimes it also means the Languedoc region of Southwest France.
Her Still blog is a place to stop. A place to look at one thing at a time. A place to be still.
She sent her first image out into the universe on January 1, 2012 hoping that she would enjoy the discipline of producing a photo a day, and hoping that a few kindred wanderers might find their way to Still blog. Every walk with her kids or dog turned into a Still blog treasure hunt, and soon thousands would come to share their morning coffee with Still blog every day.
Then design*sponge came knocking. And Martha Stewart did a feature. And Minneapolis Saint Paul Magazine. Then Target. Then West Elm. And now her work is seen in textiles, wall hangings, card collections, and other product licensing.
